Supervision:
I am an approved supervisor for LISW-CP candidates by South Carolina’s Licensing body. I have been very fortunate to receive excellent clinical supervision throughout my professional development. For this reason, I see quality personalized clinical supervision as an opportunity for tremendous growth both as a professional and clinician, as well as an opportunity to work on the most power therapeutic tool we possess…the use of self within the therapeutic relationship. If you are looking for a clinical supervisor please contact me for a meeting to explore your needs and what I have to offer to meet those needs.
“Mary is supervising me as I work toward my independent social work license. This has been a remarkable experience that has helped me grow both personally and professionally. Mary challenges me to explore barriers that impact my treatment with the individuals and families I serve, allowing me to enhance my practice. Mary went beyond the science to guide me in the art of social work. I would without a doubt recommend her to anyone looking to improve their clinical skills to become a more well-rounded clinician.”
Educational Workshops:
Educational presentations have been a part of my career since its beginning. When I became the sexual assault victim advocate at Safe-Homes Rape Crisis Coalition in 1994 part of my job description involved providing sexual assault awareness programs within the community. I discovered that I loved creating educational programs and presenting to groups. Since graduating from graduate school and beginning a private practice, I have continued to create and present educational programs, primarily for other therapists. In 2014 I was chosen to do a presentation for an international conference on incorporating energy therapy into therapeutic storytelling, a technique that I have personally developed. Also, I am currently presenting programs for Tout (Spartanburg’s Gay Straight Alliance for high school students).
I have also done programs on the following topics:
- ADHD (Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder)
- Positive Parenting
- Energy Therapy
- Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse and Treatment
- Play Therapy Techniques
